Accredited Courses

Currently, there is no statutory regulation for the practice of psychotherapy, clinical hypnotherapy, counselling, or coaching in the UK. This means anyone can use these titles without restriction, as there is no legislation to prevent it, nor is any such legislation anticipated. The British Government encourages each alternative therapy field to establish unified, self-regulating bodies.

The British Society of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Integrative Psychotherapy plays an active role in setting standards across the UK and other jurisdictions. It works closely with relevant training organisations and professional bodies to ensure quality and consistency. Training courses recommended and accredited by the Society contribute towards qualifications suitable for Regular Membership within the organisation. These accredited courses must meet specific requirements, including a minimum number of live or live-virtual classroom training hours, supervised practice during and after training, and opportunities for students to practice and experience the therapy methods being taught.
